Case Study

The Oaks at Fountaingrove

In October of 2017, “The Oaks” community at Fountaingrove lost all 46 homes to the Tubbs Fire.

Several design revisions during this project required organized cooperation between owners, consultants and sub-contractors, beginning with the accelerated schedule and demolition.  In addition to the schedule and demo challenges, the new building codes enacted by the City requiring extensive use of steel framing and stucco finishes, in order to help mitigate the spread of any subsequent fires.

The team at Farrow conducted a feasibility study to determine how best to streamlined the accelerated schedule, handle homeowner interior selections, demo and buildout and all while minimizing the project’s exposure to potential weather-related scheduling issues and procuring materials.

To address the updated energy and building codes, Farrow worked with the local building department before permits were issued to coordinate necessary consultant input and facilitate construction commencement at the earliest possible date.

The Oaks project exemplifies the type of teamwork and overall collaboration between ownership, consultant and jurisdiction that Farrow Construction excels at providing.
